Dr. John Sadler retired as a captain in the United States Navy in 1989. Dr. Sadler is one of the highest ranking, longest serving military veterans to graduate from Livingston Academy. Dr. Sadler graduated from Livingston Academy High School in 1953. He joined the United States Navy and served four years as a navy corpsman. Upon discharge, he enrolled at the University of Tennessee in the pre-dentistry program and went on to UT Memphis where he graduated in 1965 with a doctoral degree in dentistry.
Dr. Sadler served 37 years in the United States Navy. He received numerous citations, medals and awards for his meritorious service as a dental officer. He served on the USS Piedmont and the USS Coral Sea and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. The Livingston Academy Alumni Association proudly welcomes Dr. John Sadler to the Livingston Academy Hall of Fame.
